THERE WE SHALL REST
The text is from "The City of God" by St. Augustine of Hippo and was written in the early 5th century. St. Augustine writes about heaven through metaphor, and about the gift of peace. The peace that we shall enjoy will be eternal.
Commission by Kantorei, Denver, and Artistic Director Joel Rinsema, and written during Kim's position as Composer-in-Residence in 2015/16.

THE TEXT
There we shall rest and see,
we shall see and love,
we shall love and praise.
Behold what will be at the end without end.
For what other end do we have,
if not to reach the kingdom which has no end?
